Whimsy
This week I was back to my usual metalsmithing work. I finished some old pieces, mostly silver, I started working on some new ones, and I experimented with yet more ways of oxidizing. Rustic jewelry is my most favorite look, I used to work with chemicals to achieve it in the past. Lately, I have been experimenting with natural ingredients instead. The end result is different each time, and somehow there's excitement in not knowing what the end result would look like, because it varies each time though the ingredients or the methods are the same. Today I accidentally turned the copper more red on these whimsical pieces, I shall leave them be as is for few days, and will then get to the fun part, which is usually fine tuning and modifying the patina to my liking.
